7 Hydroxy is short for 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), which is one of the primary active alkaloids found in the Kratom plant. Kratom itself is a leaf grown in Southeast Asia, part of the coffee family. Its scientific name is Mitragyna speciosa. Its leaves contain alkaloids, with mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine being the primary compounds.
Pseudoindoxyl comes from one of the primary alkaloids in kratom, mytragynine. Its full name is mitragynine pseudoindoxyl because it s derived from mitragynine. Our bodies are able to metabolize mitragynine into mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, but not very often. When you consume pseudoindoxyl it results in potent opioid receptor activity in the mu-opioid receptor producing strong analgesic properties. In other words, it s powerful and targets the same receptors that kratom does, but in a stronger way.
